a place for everything....and everything with matching earrings

The inventor of the small plastic food bag is my friend for life.  Not just for storing food, they are so much more....and this is my latest household organisation idea that warms my heart.

I like to be tidy, but to be tidy with things that I can do simply and without too much preparation.  Are you always able to find the matching earring you need, or spend hours searching for that necklace that you are sure you put in your drawer?  I know personally I would forget I had necklaces and jewellery, just because I would only wear the few pieces I left lying on my dresser top for quickness.

This simple yet useful idea will hopefully be useful to you and allow you to wear all your jewellery, never forgetting a single piece.  It will also cut down your storage space for such items dramatically.

I use plastic resealable food bags for this so that I can see all the items within clearly, but you could use pretty organza jewellery tie bags or such from a craft shop.
  • Start by purchasing enough small sized food bags from your local supermarket for your necklaces, and then for very small plastic sealable bags for earrings I found some on Amazon for a few pounds for 100 bags.
  • Keep your nicest boxes from gifts and place a single necklace in each of the small food bags, and pair up your earrings into the very small bags.  If you wish, you could place the matching earrings into the necklace bags but I like to mix and match too much to do this.
  • Group all your necklaces into one lovely pretty storage box (I have used an old Gucci gift box as I love it too much to throw away), and place your earrings in your normal jewellery box.
  • And there you go! All your items now safely stored and easy to see.  It will also protect them from tarnish, from necklaces being tangled, and items being lost.  Everything in its place for those busy workdays or lazy weekends.

If you have a great idea for jewellery storage, I would love to hear about it!

church fashion and how to do a twisty belt

Its Sunday, and I love Sundays because it is the one day where we can rightfully do absolutely nothing but go and learn about the good things in life.

My first fashion great idea that I found a few weeks ago online whilst reading a blog called "I'm Clothed.Much" is a fantastic simple idea for wearing a simple belt on top of your clothes.

I couldn't live with my belts, as I am a slightly pear shaped from dancing many years and so I make the most of my curves by showing off my waist.  It also helps me to look a little bit taller and in proportion.

Here is my attempt at "the twisty belt" today:

I can imagine this would look great using the normal belts on your trousers and jeans as well, and even if you are wearing a blazer or jacket adding a belt on top.  A fantastic way for keeping the loose end of your belt in place, and no more having to create buckle holes in order to get the belt to fit!

low cut tops and my favourite discovery

I love fashion and clothing, but more than that - I adore and strive to be modest with my clothing.  It allows me to feel comfortable and allow my personality to outshine my clothes.

But modest does not mean you have to be flumpy or old-fashioned, in fact quite the opposite.  This blog is a resource for anyone like me who is looking for the fashion ideas without comprimising on standards I hold.

I'm petite and often struggle to find clothing that fits me - it is either too short on the body or too low at the front.  When I came across a range of t-shirt and layering tops from Pure Clothing UK, the answer had finally arrived.

Their latest layering item is wonderful, and I've stocked up on all the colours and in multiples of each so that pretty much I can wear them each day under tops.  Their key item for summer is Capped Sleeve Crop Tops, available in White & Black currently.
Pure Clothing UK - Capped Sleeve Crop tops for layering this Summer
I cannot praise this capped crop top enough!  I live in them each day at the moment now it is nearly Summer time, as with normal layering t-shirts I am usually too warm.  This is ideal as it gives you a no-gap neckline with as little extra layers as possible.

I also thoroughly recommend their Capped Sleeve layering Tshirts, available in a variety of colours.  These are perfect for underneath vest tops, shirts and t-shirts and creating a lovely layered look.  They are form fitting, extra long cut with no tags or labels for those sensitive - perfect for the Summer!

Check our Pure Clothing UK's website for full details and to purchase these today.

And so it begins....

My name is Jennifer and I'm a Latter Day Saint.  I live with my wonderful husband Paul in Glasgow, Scotland and together we enjoy life.  I love fashion tips, household tricks and lifestyle ideas - but most of all I love finding great ideas from blogs and websites.

I love cute & fun modest clothing that shows that modesty does not mean giving up looking stylish to the rest of the world.  I love finding a household time-saving trick or new food receipe tip that makes me wonder why I didn't think of it; and I love making life simple and meaningful.

The things dear to my heart include my husband, my family, my faith and my home.

Thank you for allowing my excitement for life to be read online.
